Overhead Baffles

Installing ceiling or roof suspended light weight acoustic baffles is another method to reduce reflective or "echo" type noise.  Often times these vertically hung overhead baffles are suspended from roof or ceiling joists.  They are often hung from thin diameter (1/8") steel cable which has been attached to walls or overhead roof trusses. How they are installed depends on each individual case, although installing any baffles in a reflectively hard space will help the situation. Optimally, we would like to see about (1) 2' x 4' baffle installed for every 10 Sq. Ft. of ceiling or roof.

Some other considerations are how the installation may effect lighting and potential fire protection problems. If the area has a fire sprinkler system the baffles should be installed completely above the sprinkler heads or the tops of the baffles should be the 18" below the sprinkler heads.

We often several designs and colors of these baffles as follows:

SONEXvalueline Baffles are 2' x 4' x 2" thick and an attractive choice in a pure natural white or painted colors. They can be custom painted to match your existing decor.  Download Literature  /PDF File
